Regius Lodge No. 8864
Honouring the Ancient Roots of the Local Craft
Regius Lodge No. 8864 is a modern and dynamic Lodge that draws its name and inspiration from the very foundations of Freemasonry, the Regius Manuscript (c. 1390), the oldest known Masonic document.
Warranted in 1978 and meeting at the heart of the community at Whitley Bay Masonic Hall, Regius Lodge embraces the core principles of Integrity, Friendship, Respect, and Service while actively looking to the future of the Craft.
We provide a welcoming, friendly environment where men of all ages and backgrounds can find meaning, develop their potential, and form strong, lasting bonds of friendship within the North Tyneside area.
Our Character & Unique Tradition
Regius Lodge is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of Masonic ritual and ceremony, linking our daily practice directly to the ancient charges that defined the stonemasons of the Middle Ages. Our distinct character is defined by:

Vibrant New Membership
We are well-known for being a forward-thinking Lodge, actively welcoming and supporting men who join through modern avenues like the Members Pathway system. We pride ourselves on attracting younger members and integrating them immediately into the Lodge’s work and social fabric.
The Light Blue Focus
Regius Lodge is closely connected to the Northumberland Light Blues Club, which provides an active social and learning environment for newer Masons. This engagement ensures our new members feel fully supported from their first day and enjoy a busy calendar of inter-Lodge events and gatherings.
A Link to History
Our name, Regius, serves as a daily reminder of the earliest recorded origins of the Craft, instilling a deep appreciation for the traditions and ethical guidance that have shaped Freemasonry for centuries.
Service and Impact in Whitley Bay
The principle of Service is central to our work, transforming our fellowship into tangible support for the wider community. While we share in the significant charitable achievements of Northumberland Freemasons as a whole, Regius Lodge focuses on local impact:

Building Good Men
By encouraging every member to build a life of moral standing and ethical conduct, we contribute to a stronger and more respectable community in Whitley Bay and the surrounding areas.
Community Contribution
Our members are committed to supporting charitable causes, both Masonic and non-Masonic, through fundraising efforts and personal volunteering.
